Tennessee Football: Possible OC hires to replace Tyson Helton
#1 – Kliff Kingsbury
Kliff Kingsbury could have the possibility of being a good hire for the Tennessee Volunteers. Kingsbury was the head coach for Texas Tech from 2013 until 2018 when he was fired after the Red Raiders losing season. He was the coach of Patrick Mahomes, who is now tearing it up in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs. Kingsbury was also the offensive coordinator for Texas A&M when Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy.
Kingsbury has a history of great offenses, as he has an air raid style offense. While his offenses tore up the Big 12, his style might not fit at Tennessee. While it would be great to see an air raid offense on Rocky Top, his style doesn’t fit well with the power offense Jeremy Pruitt would like to implement.
