Tennessee Football: Possible OC hires to replace Tyson Helton
#3 – Freddie Kitchens
I doubt this hire would happen, but it worth a shot. Freddie Kitchens and Pruitt go way back, as those two, as well as Will Friend, were college roommates.
Kitchens is currently the interim offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns. When the Browns fired Hue Jackson and their offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Kitchens was appointed to the offensive coordinator position and has done a great job since then. He has done a great job with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
This hire likely won’t happen, but if it does, it will likely be at the end of the NFL season. I don’t Tennessee will have the time to wait that long without an offensive coordinator, so I don’t see this move having a great chance to work out.
