The Nashville Predators ended the regular season on a high note and begin the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a matchup against the Dallas Stars. Here’s the preview for that series:

The Nashville Predators could not have asked for a better ending to the season. Nashville ended up going 8-2-1 in their last 11 games to close the regular season out with their second straight Central Division title.

It was key for the Predators to grab the No. 1 spot in the Central Division, especially so they didn’t have to see the St. Louis Blues or the Winnipeg Jets in the first round.

After closing the regular season out on a hot streak, the Predators will now face the Dallas Stars in to start the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This will be the first-ever matchup in the playoffs for these two teams.

The Stars are coming off of a regular season where they finished with the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. The Stars ended with a 43-32-7 record and posted 93 points on the year. This is the Stars first playoff appearance since the 2015-2016 season, where they were put out in the second round against the St. Louis Blues.

After making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times in a 19-year span, the Stars franchise has struggled at times over the last decade or so. Since 2008-2009, the Dallas Stars have missed the playoffs eight different times.

In the next few slides, we will take a look at how the Predators and the Stars fared against each other this season, as well as “Star” players, and the keys for the Predators to win the opening round series.
