The Titans focused on bulking up their receiving corps this offseason, and now Marcus Mariota likes what he sees from the Titans receivers.

We have passed the midway point of OTAs, and Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota seems to be pleased with where he and his receivers are at. General Manager Jon Robinson wanted to focus on bringing in more, better receivers to help Mariota this offseason. Mariota is now in the final season of his rookie contract, and with the new additions, Mariota could bring his game to a whole new level in 2019 if he can stay healthy.

The Titans wanted to focus on bringing in a couple of playmakers for Mariota, and they were able to sign Adam Humphries who is a solid slot receiver who has had more than 600 receiving yards in the past three seasons. Robinson also used the draft to get another receiver in A.J. Brown out of Ole Miss. Both receivers are going to spend most of their time in the slot position this season, and Brown is big enough to play on the outside if needed. The key with both Humphries and Brown is they are reliable. The Titans haven’t had a good, reliable receiver recently either due to injury or inconsistency.

So far, Mariota likes what he sees out of not only Humphries and Brown but all the receivers. Mariota feels everyone is on the same page, and the chemistry is improving every day.

"“I think being out here together and working, they look great,” Mariota said, “and as we continue to go forward, as we continue to build the chemistry, hopefully they’ll help our team out.”"

Corey Davis is another receiver who can have a big impact on the field when he is healthy. He is a big, bulky receiver at 6-3 and could be the Titans’ top receiver for a long time. Last season, he played all 16 games but in his rookie season, he missed five games due to injury. Davis finished last season with 891 receiving yards and could be a 1,000-yard receiver this season if he and Mariota are both healthy for the whole season.

If Mariota is feeling good and connecting with his receivers, this can only bring good news. Mariota wants to have his best season yet in 2019, so he can get a big guaranteed contract. The only way he can do this is if the Titans receivers can show up every game and give their best. Injuries have been a big setback for the Titans, so if they can avoid injuries with Mariota and the receivers, the Titans could be set up to have a really good 2019.
