Tennessee Basketball: Admiral Schofield “won’t fail” in NBA
Chris Vernon of The Ringer gave the five players he believes will have a successful career in the NBA.
The five guys that made the list were Nickeil Alexander-Walker, PJ Washington, Ty Jerome, Shamorie Ponds, and Admiral Schofield.
Schofield being on this list is no surprise to Tennessee fans. His tandem with Grant Williams as PB&J was probably the greatest tandem since Bernie and Ernie.
Vernon noticed that and loved what he saw out of Schofield on the court this past season.
"There were more than a few talent evaluators whom I talked to who tried to talk me out of Admiral. No chance! I love him. I love that he got better every year. I love that he was the heart and soul of an awesome Tennessee Volunteers team, Vernon said."
Seeing Schofield catch the eye of national writers has to make Tennessee fans feel good. If he’s gaining their attention, then NBA scouts, coaches, and GMs have taken notice too.
He has gained a lot of steam in recent weeks and could slide into the first round of the NBA Draft. I thought Schofield could be a first-round pick and should be after he went off in the Gonzaga game in Arizona.
Admiral brings a lot of qualities to the table that NBA teams love, which is what could lead him to a successful NBA career. And being mentioned with the names listed above helps too.
Tennessee only has a few successful NBA players so seeing Schofield become an NBA star would be something out of the ordinary for Tennessee fans.
I guess we will just have to wait and see where Admiral goes and if he can get it done in the NBA. I think if he goes to the right team with the right pieces, he could be set up to have a long, successful NBA career.
