The Draft Wire has released their 2020 NFL Mock Draft and predicted the Titans to select Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert in the first round.

We all know the situation surrounding the quarterback position in Nashville this year. If Marcus Mariota has a bad 2019, he could very well be on his way out. Leaving the Titans to look for Mariota’s replacement in 2020.

The Titans are projected to select eighth in the 2020 draft in this scenario and take Justin Herbert. He would the second quarterback to come off of the board after Tua Tagovailoa was drafted third to the Bengals.

Herbert is the prototypical NFL quarterback at 6-6, 235 pounds and is also sneaky fast. His play style is similar to Mariota’s but also possesses the ability to throw the ball down the field.

Here’s just an example of what you can get out of Herbert. He doesn’t give up on a play and almost always finds a way to make a broken play a successful one.

He was highly rated ahead of the 2019 Draft so regardless if the Titans take him or not he will be a top ten pick in the 2020 Draft.

Herbert has totaled 7,070 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions in his three years at Oregon. He is definitely the best quarterback to come through Oregon since Mariota and could prove to be as good if not better in 2019.

Herbert is 3,726 yards short from reaching Mariota’s school record. A season as good as last year could lift him over that record this season.

Herbert has been compared to Mariota and Andrew Luck during his time at Stanford. Those are two pretty good quarterbacks who have been riddled with injuries. If they weren’t sidelined due to injuries, they could be two of the best quarterbacks in the league right now.

Next. Peyton Manning loves the Titans this year. dark

Herbert will be set up to have a successful career in the NFL with the traits he possesses. He has what everyone wants in a quarterback, and if the Titans do decide to transition from Mariota to Herbert, it could be seamless on the field.
