The Touchdown Wire has released their top 11 offensive tackles in the NFL, and Taylor Lewan came in at number ten.

The Touchdown Wire ranked Taylor Lewan as the tenth best offensive tackle in the NFL. This is shockingly low for Lewan.

Lewan has been one of the best if not the best left tackle in the NFL for a few years now.

Here’s Doug Farrar’s explanation as to why Lewan was ranked tenth:

"“The Titans signed former Rams guard Rodger Saffold to a four-year, $44 million deal in the offseason to help the left side of their offensive line, but Lewan didn’t need much assistance as a pass-protector or run-blocker in 2018,” he wrote. “The three-time Pro Bowl left tackle, Tennessee’s first-round pick out of Michigan in the 2014 draft, allowed just two sacks, two quarterback hits and 16 quarterback hurries in 852 snaps last season.”"

The tenth best offensive tackle has given up a total of two sacks; two quarterback hits in 2018? Are you serious? How is he the tenth best offensive tackle in the league?

Lewan brings something to the table, not many offensive linemen possess. Agility and speed are two strong points for Lewan.

Whether it’s pulling to get to a linebacker or picking up an extra rusher coming from the outside Lewan is one of the best in the game at what he does.

When matching up with some of the best the league has to offer Lewan has shown his dominance throughout his young career. You can’t tell me there is another offensive lineman who is as versatile as Lewan in all facets of his game.

The Titans offensive line has taken a step back over the past couple of years, but Lewan is one guy who has shown up and done his job every game.

He is beloved by Titans faithful for many reasons. If Lewan feels Marcus Mariota was wronged on the field, he will take it up with whoever wronged Mariota and will not hold back.

Whether it’s a player or an official Lewan isn’t going to hold back, and he is going to tell you how he feels, and there’s nothing you’re going to do about it.

That just adds to his value. He isn’t just a guy who goes and does what he has to do while he’s on the field he goes above and beyond to protect his teammates and make extraordinary plays on the field.

Some of the guys ahead of him can be justified, but there’s only a couple that fall into that category. Lewan is a top five offensive tackle at the worst.

Next. The Titans could be drafting another Oregon QB in 2020. dark

Lewan may have been punished for the rest of the Titans offensive line for taking a step back which is unfair to him. It’s ok though because if the national media wants to keep overlooking Lewan, then he can just keep doing his thing on the field for the people of Tennessee.
