Remember when John Currie was a good hire? That didn’t turn out so well.

John Currie was supposed to be one of the best athletic directors in the country, and according to many national writers and tv personalities, this was a great move by Tennessee.

Come to find out it was a terrible decision. People at Kansas State were glad Currie was leaving, and that blinded people because he was going to Tennessee.

“A lot of people would do fine at Tennessee,” Barrett Sallee said. Unfortunately, Currie does not fall into that group of people.

Currie was a disaster at Tennessee, and he was not prepared to take on a job in the SEC. Kansas State and Tennessee are two completely different places when it comes to sports, and the culture surrounding athletics and Currie found that out real quick.

For all of the personalities on Twitter, I don’t know what they were thinking.

Within the fan base, for the most part, I think people were ok with the hire, but it wasn’t an amazing hire like people thought it would be.

They all found that out pretty quick since he didn’t even survive a calendar year at Tennessee, eight months to be exact.
