Titans writer Jim Wyatt said Titans receivers coach Rob Moore expressed that Taywan Taylor will be getting more “opportunities” in 2019.

Short answer: yes. Taywan Taylor deserves more opportunities in 2019. Whether that’s on special teams or offense, he has earned those opportunities.

"“I think Tay has done a solid job for us,” Moore said. “Honestly, I just think we need to give him more opportunities. Give him more opportunities to showcase what he can do and I think he’ll take advantage of his opportunities.”"

Taylor is going into his third season and showed in his first two years he has what it takes to be a top receiver in the league.

He caught 16 passes for 231 yards in his rookie season and doubled those numbers in year two to 37 catches for 466 yards.

Even he continues to get even close to that pace; he will soon be seen as a future star in the NFL.

After some offseason acquisitions, Taylor will likely fall down the depth chart to a third or fourth option. If he is expecting to get more opportunities, he is going to have to rise to the occasion when he is in the game.

He’s now getting another offseason to put in some work to fix his flaws.

His main positive is his speed which makes me think he could become a primary guy on special teams this year if he can prove he can handle that role in the preseason.

There is going to be a lot of competition heading into the season between A.J. Brown, Adam Humphries, and Taylor. Whoever wins out between those three will likely see the field as the number two guy.

Humphries is a slot receiver, so I don’t expect him to become the next wideout for the Titans. I think we are going to see the battle for that spot between Brown and Taylor.

Brown showed he has a lot of potential last year at Ole Miss, so if he can translate that into the NFL game; he could be set to see the field a lot in 2019.

Taylor has an advantage over Brown, though. Taylor is now in his third season, so he knows the offense well and is comfortable with Mariota as the quarterback.

I would love to see Taylor become the second guy behind Corey Davis. I think those two out wide could do some major damage to opposing secondaries.
