Tennessee Titans: The Titans can win the Super Bowl if Mariota can stay healthy
Touchdown Wire released their favorite teams to win their first Super Bowl in 2019, and the Tennessee Titans are on the list.
Touchdown Wire’s Michael Colangelo believes the Titans are one of seven teams to win their first Super Bowl in 2019.
Of the 12 Super Bowl-less NFL franchises, the Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars all made the list.
If you’re curious, the five teams that didn’t make this list are the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Detroit Lions.
Those five teams not on the list seem pretty obvious but for Colangelo to think seven teams could win their first Super Bowl is pretty crazy. When I see those teams on that list, I think three or maybe four teams could win the Super Bowl in 2019.
But the Titans could be that team this year that surprises people throughout the league. No one is expecting them to win anything this year because they don’t believe in Marcus Mariota.
Unfortunately for those nonbelievers if Mariota can return to his form in 2016 and stay healthy, he automatically makes the Titans a Super Bowl contender, and Colangelo agrees.
“The Titans are deep, but their problem is at the quarterback position,” Colangelo wrote. “If Marcus Mariota can stay healthy and improve drastically, they have a great shot. If Mariota doesn’t improve, he will have to play like Trent Dilfer the year he led the Ravens to a title.”
The depth throughout the roster is unlike anything the Titans have seen since Mariota has gotten into the league.
The receiving corps is the best it has been in years, and with that, Mariota will have plenty of options all over the field.
The defense is also one of the best defenses in the league, but they are so underrated no one even knows that yet. Kevin Byard just got paid, so I think the best season of his career is ahead of him.

Not only do I think the Titans have a chance to rebound and be one of the best teams in the AFC I think they have a chance to be one of the surprise Super Bowl contenders in 2019.
