Tennessee football won their first game of the season on Saturday against Chattanooga, and now they might have a chance to upset Florida.

With Tennessee finally getting their first win of the season in Week 3 they now will look to Florida for win two. The Gators continued their winning ways as well with a 29-21 win over Kentucky in Lexington.

But there has been a wrinkle thrown in the Florida Gators’ season. Their starting QB Feleipe Franks is likely out for the season and definitely out for the Tennessee game.

We’ve seen this story happen time and time again. Florida backup QB comes in and dominates Tennessee, so what’s different now that can change that? Well, nothing really, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if it happened again this year.

Kyle Trask actually looked pretty good when he entered the game against Kentucky. He was able to lead the Florida offense to three fourth-quarter touchdowns. Without him, I don’t know if Florida would have won this game or even kept it close.

That makes me wonder if he will come out and do the same thing on Saturday. Based on the history of Florida backup quarterbacks playing Tennessee I can only assume he’ll throw for 400 yards and a few touchdowns, but he is a backup for a reason.

The Vols defense looked to be much improved against Chattanooga and yes I know it’s Chattanooga, but they still looked much better. If the defense continues to improve, I think the Vols might have a chance to stun the Gators late in the fourth quarter.

Trash … I mean Trask is still a backup so there will be some kinks in his game the defense just has to find them. I think there’s a good chance the Vols defense can do that, but it’ll have to be through in-game adjustments.

That’s where I’m worried about. Can the coaches make the correct in-game adjustments to stop the Florida offense? I hope so, but with that in mind, I don’t want to talk myself into winning in the swamp quite yet.

But if you’re looking for a sliver of a chance, there is one thanks to the defense. Now the offense will need to pick up the slack and put up points against an actual FBS school and not just Chattanooga.

Next. Vols get first win despite still sloppy play. dark

Jarrett Guarantano is going to need to have a great game against Florida to secure a win and needs to be very careful when throwing the ball. If he can miraculously do that, who knows what could happen.
