The Tennessee Titans ran an Oregon-Esque offense on Sunday, and Marcus Mariota played like he was in heaven and dominated as a result.

The Tennessee Titans dominated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in front of thousands of Falcons fans, and it was a great thing to see.

Titans OC Arthur Smith cooked up some magic in Week 1, but in the past couple of weeks before Sunday did the opposite and I was worried for the Titans future on offense. Sunday completely changed that as the Titans went into a pure spread offense for a lot of the game.

A true spread offense is something that Marcus Mariota ran at Oregon, and that’s the offense he dominated in, so it’s no surprise that he went 18-of-27 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday.

For Mariota to earn a contract extension, we’re going to need more games like this from him and the whole team consistently. Mariota looked like the quarterback he was at Oregon, and the quarterback he was before 2017.

Mariota can clearly get the job done as the Titans quarterback the Titans just have to let him run his offense so he can be successful.

Another thing, this A.J. Brown kid is pretty good. Mariota gets to run his offense and turns out Brown gets open a lot in this offense. Not only does he get open down the field, but he can also make moves and create space.

Just look at that play it was executed well by the o-line, Mariota, and Henry selling the play-action pass, and Brown getting open downfield. Brown put a cherry on top of the play by stopping his momentum and changing direction to get into the endzone.

dark. Next. The old man in Delanie Walker has come out

When Mariota is good, the rest of the team is good. Arthur Smith needs to keep this in mind when he’s calling plays if he plans to be successful for the remainder of the season.
