Jeremy Banks has been arrested, and while everyone is blaming Jeremy Pruitt, I think he’s going to come out of this situation looking better.

A lot of people have been upset with Jeremy Pruitt and how he has handled the Jeremy Banks issue so far, but I don’t see where he went wrong. I actually think he did everything right.

And for the others that think Banks should be kicked off of the team for what he said to the police officers I’m going to have to disagree with you there too.

Everyone just needs to calm down, take a step back from the situation, and evaluate it from a whole instead of jumping to conclusions because that’s going to get us nowhere.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t approve of what he said nor would I ever. He put himself in that situation with not going to court over a previous ticket. Banks has since apologized about his actions and although that doesn’t make up for what he said it’s a step in the right direction.

I think there should be repercussions for Banks’ actions, but I’m not quite sure about kicking him off of the team. But I don’t want to focus on Banks right now. I want to look at the base information and look at how Pruitt responded with the Police and Banks.

At 3:45 Pruitt received a call. Not only did he answer the call, but he went as far as to defend Banks as much as he could on the spot with the officer.

You can’t tell me that Butch, Dave Doeren, or whoever else was in line for the coaching job would’ve done the same thing to the extent of Pruitt.

Pruitt is trying to change the culture at Tennessee. You can’t throw the blame on him for what Banks did. We don’t even have to look at that if you don’t want to, we can look at who Banks chose to call.

He could’ve called anyone he knew, and he chose his football coach. Not his position coach, not his coordinator, not a teammate he’s close to but his head football coach.

There probably aren’t a ton of head coaches that make themselves available like that or offer themselves to their players like Pruitt has been doing.

Pruitt is a father figure to these guys. Sure some guys might have their fathers in their lives, but they may be hundreds of miles away. I absolutely love that Pruitt did everything that he did for Banks.

A father figure is what some of these guys need and for Pruitt to earn that trust from them in just over a year of being with them is amazing.

Stop looking at Pruitt when everything goes wrong. Everything isn’t his fault and the fact that some people are still mad at him after he defended his player like he did is crazy to me.

Next. Can Pruitt change Tennessee like he did Georgia. dark

Maybe I don’t have all of the information, but from what I’ve seen Pruitt has his player’s back, and with that, they’ll have his in return. Change is coming on Rocky Top, and Pruitt is going to be the one that inflicts that change.
