The Tennessee Titans offense has been an eyesore for most of the 2019 season but now their kicking game is too, for now.

The double doink could be coming to Nashville with the Titans signing former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey after cutting kicker Cairo Santos.

The Titans’ kicking game has been bad to start the year. I never thought Santos was a long-term solution to the Titans’ kicking woes and that proves true now that he’s no longer with the team.

There’s a new kicker in town now with the Titans cutting Santos and signing Parkey, who has been a free agent since missing a field goal that would’ve sent the Bears the Divisional Round in last year’s playoffs.

If you don’t remember Parkey, let me remind you, or better yet, let me just show you what happened.

After the Titans missed four field goals on Sunday, they needed to find a kicker that can get the job done after cutting their kicker. Instead, they get a kicker who miraculously hit one of the goalposts six times last season.

The Titans’ kicking woes might improve with Parkey, but he’s not going to take them to the next level as they need. Last year, Parkey missed ten total kicks. Seven of those were field goals, and three of them were extra points.

Parkey is a decent kicker, but I don’t know how much he’s going to help the Titans. I think it might’ve been best for the Titans to keep Saros and see if he can figure things out this year, but I know I’m probably in the minority there.

The Titans still have a lot of work on offense, but a decent kicker like Parkey could be a much-needed step in the right direction. Now, they need to figure out half of the other offensive positions, and they’ll be good to go.

Next. Yes, Taylor Lewan is a fake tough guy. dark

All we can do for Parkey is wait and see what he can do for the Titans, and maybe he will be an improvement from Santos. The potential of a double doink coming to Nashville does kind of excite me, though.
