Ryan Tannehill improves to 2-0 as a starter for the Tennessee Titans as they sit at 4-4. After the first two games, Tannehill might be the answer.

The Tennessee Titans looked to be in a spot where they might want to consider tanking at 2-4 and prepare for next season.

Marcus Mariota has struggled through the first six games. He couldn’t perform at a semi-decent level in the Titans’ offense, which left the Titans with some questions and needing to find those answers quick.

The coaching staff decided to move from their franchise quarterback in Mariota and turn to newly acquired quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The prospect of heading into the BYE week with a 6-4 record was possible but not likely.

Now, Tannehill has led the Titans to two consecutive wins. An impressive debut against the Chargers was enough for the Titans to sneak out of a win after two straight losses.

He began his career with the Titans with a solid first impression. 23-for-29, 312 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. That was also good enough to get Titans fans excited about their future with Tannehill at quarterback.

The momentum has continued for a second straight game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town for a Week 8 matchup.

Tannehill didn’t have the day he had last week, but he did his job and secured the win. He can thank the Titans defense for a part of that as the Tennessee defense is one of the best in the NFL.

His numbers weren’t impressive on Sunday, but Tannehill finished 21-for-33, 193 yards, and three touchdowns. 21 completions and three touchdowns are both good for the stat line.

193 yards isn’t a lot, especially in today’s NFL, where we expect our quarterbacks to throw for 300+ yards to win every game. That’s not necessarily the case, and we found that out in Tannehill’s second start of the season, where he didn’t even reach 200 passing yards.

Whatever the offense has to do to win, I am fine with it. I think Tannehill is doing a great job through his first two games of the season, and I think the offense is building some momentum.

There is still a pretty good chance the Titans go into the BYE week with a 6-4 record. This game against the Buccaneers was one I was worried about. I thought this could be a game the Titans could drop if they don’t show up and settle with last week’s win as a success.

The Titans didn’t lay down, and it was a fight, but the boys got the win. Now the team has to prep for a trip to Carolina with a matchup against the Panthers.

Carolina got smashed by the 49ers today, so they’ll look at their upcoming game against the Titans as a bounce-back game. Tennessee will need to shut them down early and not allow the Panthers to use the Titans to figure things out again.

Players are fully bought in on Ryan Tannehill. dark. Next

I think this will be a fun game, and it’ll be competitive, but Tannehill and the offense will need to be on their A-game to get the job done, and I think they’ll be able to because it looks more and more like Tannehill could be the Titans new quarterback.
