Tennessee Football: Vol fans continue to prove they’re the best in the country

Jauan Jennings was announced as a Biletnikoff Award watch list earlier this week, and in just a few hours, he received nearly 50% of the votes.

Jauan Jennings has been a fan favorite at Tennessee for a few years. He burnt a Florida cornerback that led to a touchdown, caught a game-winning hail mary at Georgia, and has become the dawg on Tennessee’s offense this year.

He has given his all for Tennessee in his nearly five years in Knoxville. This year, he has 771 receiving yards on 50 receptions with seven touchdowns.

The yards and touchdowns are good enough for fifth-best in the SEC and the six-best in receptions so far this year. You look at that and say alright he’s a pretty good receiver, but if you have seen Jennings play, then you will learn he has the most fight and heart in the SEC.

With that, comes a hoard of Tennessee fans standing behind him. When I cast my vote for Jennings on the Biletnikoff Award watch list, he had less than one percent of votes.

Later that day, he had nearly 50% of the votes. This had other fanbases freaking out and demanding they cast their vote against Jennings and for their team’s wide receiver.

It only took eight hours from Jennings to go from zero percent to lead the pack with 29.77% of the votes, more than one percent more than Oregon State’s Isaiah Hodgins. Beaver fans did not appreciate this on Twitter.

Hodgins still sits in second place, and Jennings leads by over 22%, which proves that Tennessee fans are the best in the country.

Is Jennings the outright best wide receiver in college football? No, but he plays with heart, and he fights for every yard he gets. He never quits, and he’s the leader of a football team that has flipped a complete 180 from the beginning of the season.

We say that Jeremy Pruitt is changing the culture at Tennessee, but without players like Jennings, that doesn’t happen so easily.

Jauan Jennings is a dawg; he’s our dawg. When Tennessee fans come together, they can flip things just like this poll and change college football history. You’ve seen it with Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield, and it looks like you’re about to see it again with Jennings.

Next: I think Kellie Harper is the real deal

If you haven’t voted for Jennings yet, then I would encourage you to give your vote for Jennings. Let’s show him and the country what a real fan base looks like.
