Two of the most beloved Tennessee basketball players, Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield, are finding their ways in the NBA.

On Monday night, Admiral Schofield started his first game in the NBA with the Washington Wizards. Schofield was rewarded for his hard work with the start, and it’s well-deserved.

Grant Williams is also figuring things out with the Boston Celtics. Williams is finding his game in the NBA, and it excites me that both of these guys are putting their mark in the NBA in only their first year.

Grant is a two-time SEC Player of the Year, and he was the 22nd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, so we know he can play, and now he’s proving it on the court.

On Sunday, he scored 12 points in the Celtics’ win over the Charlotte Hornets and scored a career-high 18 points against the Detroit Pistons this past Friday in another Celtics win.

It has taken both Grant and Admiral a bit of time to find their groove in the NBA, but that’s expected, and they have made their turnaround a bit quicker than I even expected.

Admiral has improved his NBA game, too. He earned his first NBA start with the Wizards in their Monday night matchup against the New York Knicks.

He finished with three points and shot 1-for-3 from the field, two rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal.

Not a perfect performance from Admiral, but it’s his first start, so if he continues to be in the starting lineup, then I expect his game to get better every game.

I am really proud of these two guys, along with Jordan Bone and Kyle Alexander, and I am so excited to see what these four guys can do long-term in the NBA.

In a few years, the NBA is going to get confused with who has a better basketball program when they mention Tennessee in Kentucky. That’s how many players Rick Barnes is going to put in the NBA.

Next. There’s only one uniform combination Tennessee football can wear. dark

For now, let’s celebrate Grant and Admiral’s quick success in the league and support them as they continue to make their mark in the NBA.
