It’s officially Wild Card Weekend in America as eight teams will fight for a spot in the Divisional Round, including the Tennessee Titans.

With Wild Card Weekend always comes some crazy storylines, big stakes, and the end of the New England Patriots’ dynasty, or at least we all hope that happens. The Tennessee Titans can be the famed team to end the Pats with a win on Saturday.

But we’ve already talked about that here at Tenn Truth. If you want to read that, then you can do it here.

The Titans’ game against the Patriots is set up to be a good one with storylines running throughout the game.

The Titans are one of the hottest teams in the NFL; the Patriots have the greatest coach and quarterback of all-time trying to figure things out before it’s too late, can the Titans catch the Patriots and send them packing before the Divisional Round?

There’s one storyline for you, but the storyline I want to talk about is what Bill Belichick said, leading up to the game about the Titans.

The Patriots head coach shouted high praise for the Titans and said he’s ready for the challenge that the Titans will bring.

"“This is a really good football team,” he said this week. “They do a lot of things well – very, very explosive on offense and a tough group to stop. We’re looking forward to the opportunity and the challenge, and as I said, we’ve got a couple more days here to wrap things up and we’re going to use all of our time – we need it – and try to put everything together the best that we can to be ready to go.”"

Belichick isn’t a coach to say bad things about an upcoming opponent, so these types of comments are expected from him. But you do have to recognize that he knows the Titans could very well beat him and end his season early.

He said he’s looking forward to the challenge, and for all we know, that could very well mean that he’s looking forward to losing to the Titans in the Wild Card Round.

Belichick also offered high praise for future Rookie of the Year A.J. Brown.

"“I just look at what I see on film because that’s the only thing that matters,” he said. “He [A.J. Brown] is a good receiver, he makes big plays, he can run and he’s strong. So, he’s having a good year for a reason.”"

It’s a big day for the Titans and the Patriots as they both have a lot on the line and a win against the Patriots, and Belichick could help push the Titans over the mediocre hump they’ve been stuck on.

Next. You’re dang right Ryan Tannehill is the AFC Offensive Player of the Month. dark

All I have to say is I hope that Belichick is ready to lose to the Titans in the Wild Card Round. The Titans won’t be backing down to a struggling Patriots team looking for its spark.
