Tennessee Sports: Tennessean athletes are taking over the Super Bowl
We now know the Super Bowl matchup, and with that matchup comes athletes from the State of Tennessee ready to take over Miami.
The State of Tennessee has seen a few players go from its colleges throughout the state to the NFL, and some of them are finding success.
From Vanderbilt to Middle Tennessee State to the University of Tennessee, there are nine players from Tennessee playing in the Super Bowl.
Vandy has the most former players heading to Miami with four players in total. Two players on the 49ers and two players on the Chiefs.
MTSU has the second most with three. Two Chiefs and one 49er. The one 49er, Richie James, may outrank all of these players with the part he has played in San Fransisco’s offense this season.
Finally, Tennessee will be sending two players to Miami. One on each team and both players play a pivotal role in each team’s gameplan.
Of course, all three of these teams boasted about the players that are going to the Super Bowl as they should.

Vanderbilt came along later on Monday afternoon but had the biggest bragging rights in the state with the most former Commodores playing in the Big Game.

We could see a lot of plays where former players of MTSU, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt make plays in the Super Bowl, and this could help with each team’s recruiting.
It’s always fun to see players in the Super Bowl that you cheered for in college, even if they don’t play for your favorite NFL team. It’s even more fun to see players you hated in college lose in the Super Bowl.
The players are split almost evenly between the 49ers and Chiefs, too, which offers an interesting dynamic for non-49ers and non-Chiefs fans when it comes to who they’re cheering for.
Regardless of who you’re cheering for in a couple of weeks, be on the lookout for former Tennessee athletes making plays on football’s biggest stage.
