Jay Graham will join Tennessee football as the running back coach, and he is Jeremy Pruitt’s biggest signing in 2020 so far.

Jeremy Pruitt has been a great recruiter for Tennessee football in his first couple of years as the Tennessee head coach, and he’s continuing that with another coaching hire.

That hire consists of Jay Graham as the new running backs coach, and I think that’s the biggest signing for Pruitt so far in 2020.

Some fans have been upset in recent coaching hires because they wanted “one of them.” Whether that’s just a coach from the south or someone from Tennessee, they wanted “their guy.”

Well, I think Pruitt is about as close to one of our guys we’re going to get right now, and I think he was a great coaching hire, and now he’s bringing assistant coaches in that love the University of Tennessee.

First, Tee Martin joined the Tennessee offense last offseason, and now Jay Graham, former Tennessee running back, is joining the staff as well to coach the same position he dominated when he played at Tennessee.

Graham even showed he was happy to return to Rocky Top with a tweet after he was announced to take over as the next running backs coach.

Graham rushed for 2,609 yards and 25 touchdowns in his four-year career at Tennessee. Not too shabby if you ask me.

He will inherit and pretty good backfield already, but his job will be to take it to the next level. With the quarterback position still have a question mark by it, the running backs could be relied on a lot early in the season.

Not only will I think he will do that in 2002, but I think he will do it over the next few years, or however long he will be at Tennessee.

The offense is going to need to go to the next level in 2020, and a dominant running game will be vital to making that happen.

I think Graham will take the Vols’ running game to the next level, therefore giving the offense as a whole the opportunity to do the same. That’s why I believe this is Pruitt’s biggest signing in 2020 so far.
