The Tennessee Titans are still trying to decide on if they’re going to sign Ryan Tannehill or Tom Brady, but I believe they have to keep Tannehill.

Tom Brady or Ryan Tannehill? That’s the age-old question that the Tennessee Titans currently face with free agency coming up, and the decision could throw the franchise in a loop that they can not afford if they make the wrong decision.

In my opinion, after seeing both quarterback’s performances in 2019, I believe that the Titans only have one decision, and it’s to re-sign Tannehill.

It would be really cool to see Brady in a Titans uniform before he retires and ultimately ends up in the Hall of Fame. But the Titans should not sign someone because it would be “cool”; they are building a winning franchise, not a cool franchise.

Brady has been a proven winner in the past, but last season he slipped some, and it looked like the best Brady is behind him, and he could be heading towards the final season or two of his career.

Tannehill, on the other hand, had the best season of his career. He had one of the highest passer ratings in the NFL (117.5) and had the best half-season a quarterback that started the season as the backup could ask for.

If his performance upfront doesn’t impress you enough, then all you have to do is look at what he did on paper. Another important statistic Tannehill dominated in was fourth-quarter passer rating, and his performance in that category was nothing short of elite.

According to Pro Football Focus, when the Titans needed it most, Tannehill pulled through and topped the leaderboard in the category.

Tannehill finished the season with a fourth-quarter passer rating of 123.3. He blew out the competition as Matthew Stafford finished second with 111.6, and Drew Brees finished third with 110.2. Tannehill proved he has what it takes to be an elite quarterback when it matters.

Tannehill did almost everything right this past season. He deserves a new contract with the Titans and I believe he is the quarterback that will get the Titans to the Super Bowl and win the Big Game, not Brady.
