Five Tennessee Football players have been given odds to win the Heisman Trophy for the 2020 season, but do any of them have a real chance?

Circa Sports has released its odds for potential Heisman winners for the 2020 season, and five Tennessee football players are longshots to win the prestigious award.

You may be surprised that Tennessee has five total players on the list to win the Heisman. There are 367 total players on the list, so maybe it’s not too big of a surprise.

Probably the most interesting thing I found here is that the four main quarterbacks on Tennessee’s roster were all given odds to win the Heisman along with Eric Gray.

Jarrett Guarantano and Harrison Bailey have the best odds to win the Heisman at +30000. So if you have $100 to put down on either of those two and they somehow have a Heisman worthy season, then you could see a $30,000 payday.

Both of these quarterbacks could very well be one and two on the depth chart for Tennessee this fall; it’s just a matter of which one will be the starter. I don’t know if 2020 is Bailey’s year to win the Heisman, but the five-star quarterback could have a good enough season in the next four years to do so.

Tennessee running back, Eric Gray also came in with +30000 odds to win the Heisman. Gray dominated against Vanderbilt and Indiana in the Gator Bowl. Those two performances showed us hopefully what we will see throughout the 2020 season.

Brian Maurer and Kasim Hill come in with the second-best odds for Tennessee players at +100000. We got a glimpse of what Maurer can do under center last year before he suffered a couple of injuries in back-to-back games.

If Maurer is 100% healthy and could play a full season, I wouldn’t count him out for a Heisman season in the future.

After looking at all five players on this list, it’s clear that three of these quarterbacks won’t be starting in a capacity big enough to win the Heisman.

We could see one guy for a majority of the year or a rotation at the quarterback position, but either way, it’s unlikely that two Tennessee quarterbacks will be in the running for the Heisman.

If Gray can consistently play like he did in the final two games of the 2019 season, then I think he will have the best chance for Tennessee to bring home its first Heisman trophy. The offensive line is going to be improved, and he has another offseason to continue building on the 2019 season.

Next. Tennessee Football: Brian Maurer might’ve given us a hint who the starting QB will be. dark

I don’t know if we’ll have a Heisman Trophy winner for the 2020 season, but I can definitely see a couple of players on Tennessee’s roster that could win one in the future.
