The Tennessee Titans lost star offensive lineman Jack Conklin to free agency, and now Sports Illustrated has the Titans focused on the offensive line.

The Tennessee Titans have done a pretty good job filling their needs throughout free agency. So far, it’s looking like the Titans will have one of the most well-rounded teams we’ve seen since 2008, but there is still a pretty big hole on the offensive line.

Jack Conklin departed from Nashville in free agency, which leaves the Titans without their All-Pro right tackle, so now they will look to the 2020 NFL Draft to find their next left tackle. At least, that’s what Sports Illustrated has mocked up.

Dr. Roto of Sports Illustrated released his 2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0, and he has the Titans will draft offensive tackle Austin Jackson out of USC. Dr. Roto’s reasoning is pretty simple, too.

"“A replacement for the departed Jack Conklin, Jackson can start Week 1,” Dr. Roto explained."

That’s not a bad reason, either. The Titans re-signed Danny Kelly, but if they don’t think he’s good enough to be the starting right tackle for the entire 2020 season and the future, then drafting Conklin’s replacement should be of high priority for the Titans.

Austin Jackson could very well be the replacement that the Titans need. He started all 13 games at left tackle last season and earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors.

Many experts have mocked the Titans to draft an offensive lineman in the first round, but Jackson might be the Titans’ best option if he’s still available when the Titans get on the clock.

Other mock drafts have said the Titans will draft Houston’s Josh Jones, Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland, and Georgia’s Andrew Thomas. All three of those options are good too, but Jackson has a lot of experience at the position, and he fits the mold.

Thomas has the appeal of being a big SEC offensive lineman that could help right away, and that might be the case, not only for Thomas but for all four of the offensive linemen listed.

Next. Tennessee Football finally gets its tenth verbal commitment. dark

The Titans’ general manager Jon Robinson has done a really good job drafting college prospects since becoming the Titans GM, so I have no doubt that he will pick the right offensive lineman if he goes that route, and he will continue to draft well this year.
