Mike Vrabel described what he’s looking for in a running back in the draft, so could we see the Tennessee Titans draft a running back in the first round?

The Tennessee Titans will look to fill a few more of its needs in the draft this weekend, and head coach Mike Vrabel talked about what he’s looking for in a running back.

We all know what Derrick Henry did last season, but he can’t play every down of the season, so the Titans will hope to find his backup and, if necessary, his replacement. Hopefully, that’s not the case, but you never know.

The draft is likely where the Titans will look to find Henry’s back up, and they’ll have a few opportunities to do so. With that being said, where will the Titans draft Henry’s potential back up? Could they make the move in the first round?

I think it’s possible, but it simply depends on how the Titans see their need at running back. If they want a solid back up for Henry, then they could very well pull the trigger on day one. If not, we could see the Titans figure something out on day two or day three.

We might not know where the Titans are planning on drafting a running back, but Vrabel knows what he wants in his future running back.

The question came up in a Zoom call on Monday, where Vrabel was asked if the Titans’ future back up running back is in this year’s draft.

A running back that can produce on all three downs, pass protection, and special teams. Seems easy enough, right?

There are a few running backs that the Titans have been mocked to draft. One notable running back is J.K. Dobbins from Ohio State. After seeing what recent OSU running backs have done in the NFL, I think Dobbins would be a great asset for the Titans.

I’ve talked about if before, the Titans have to assess the ROI (Return On Investment) on all potential draft picks. Depending on where the Titans can get Dobbins, I’d say that the ROI on Dobbins would be well worth the draft pick.

I don’t know if the Titans are going to find a running back on the third day, so my bet is that they make the move on day one or day two.
