Jeremy Pruitt is building something special on Rocky Top as Tennessee Football just picked up another huge signing for the 2021 class.

Jeremy Pruitt is an elite recruiter. He’s already proven that in his short time on Rocky Top and continues to impress on the virtual recruiting trail as we wait for the NCAA and Tennessee football to open things back up.

It’s been a pretty productive week this week, too, for the Vols. On Sunday, five-star defensive end Dylan Brooks committed to Tennessee, on Monday, four-star defensive back Kamar Wilcoxson committed to Tennessee, on Tuesday, four-star wide receiver Julian Nixon committed to the Vols, and now five-star linebacker Terrence Lewis announced on Thursday that he’s heading to Rocky Top.

Will the commitments ever end? Well, if top prospects want to keep announcing that they’re coming to Tennessee, then I hope not.

Lewis is the most recent to commit to add his name to Tennessee’s elite list of recruits coming out of this week. “Roll with us or Get rolled OVER. Eat with us or Get ATE!” Lewis said in a tweet announcing his commitment.

After the commits early this week, I had a good feeling we could see Lewis make the decision to commit to Tennessee, but I did not expect it to be so soon.

Pruitt and the Vols have momentum like no other program in college football right now, and that’s not only great for this summer and the fall but for continuing to get top recruits in the 2021 class.

Other recruits are taking notice, too. That’s mostly because they have to, and you can’t ignore what the Vols did this week, whether you like it or not, and I think there were a few that liked what they saw. Could we see another commitment this weekend?

If we do, then we might see Tennessee get closer to having the best recruiting class in the country. Right now, Tennessee is sitting pretty at No. 3, according to 247Sports’ 2021 Class Rankings.

The Vols have 15 total recruits, with ten of them being three-stars, three being four-stars, and two being five-stars.

This week was good enough for the Vols to jump up to No. 3 in the country and take over Florida for the best recruiting class in the SEC so far. Tennessee is currently behind North Carolina, and Ohio State, who is sitting at the top of the rankings.

Tennessee has some work to do if it wants to get past Ohio State to sit at No. 1. OSU currently has 12 four-stars committed, which is a big reason why they are sitting commandingly at the top of the leaderboard.

It’s been a solid week for Tennessee, and I hope Pruitt can keep the pressure on the recruits and sway some opinions so he can add a few more five-stars to his list. Oh, and assistant coach Brian Niedermeyer wants to bring back black jerseys. Interesting.
