The Tennessee Titans have had its eye on Jadeveon Clowney for quite a while now, but is it time to say that Clowney won’t be coming to Nashville?

The chase for Jadeveon Clowney has been a marathon, and Tennessee Titans fans have been waiting on the announcement that he’s coming to Nashville for what seems like years.

The former Texans and Seahawks defensive end has struggled to find a contract offer that he likes, which has led to the Seahawks and Jets dropping out of the race for him, leaving only the Titans as an interested team.

He’s lowered his asking price a couple of times in hopes of putting ink on paper, but nothing has come of it. Then, Titans general manager Jon Robinson said that there isn’t anything “imminent in the works” regarding Clowney, and that has proven to be true.

I thought that might be the case because the draft was right around the corner and Robinson wanted to wait until after the draft to decide if he wants to spend the money on Clowney.

That could still be the case. Robinson might think that the Titans came out of the draft well enough where they don’t need to sign Clowney.

It seems that Clowney is tired of waiting around and wants to show off to the world that he’s ready to play his best football yet.

Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston tweeted out multiple videos of Clowney working out and showing off his recovery from his sports hernia surgery.

If you’re hoping that a deal with Clowney would come soon, then you might have to pump the brakes. It sounds like Clowney wants to wait until he can meet with teams in person to make his decision.

I don’t blame him for this decision, either. It’s a decision that could decide how much longer you play in the NFL, so you have to be right. That means we might be heading into June before we hear anything official regarding Clowney and if he is joining the Titans.

I would’ve thought if nothing came of the talks by now that the Titans would be out on Clowney and either look for someone else or take what they already have and work with that, but that might not be the case.

Clowney might want to come to the Titans, but both want to meet each other in person before making that decision, so it’s just a waiting game now until they have the opportunity to meet.
