Tennessee football is building a great 2021 recruiting class, but could 2023 be Tennessee’s year once the recruits get into Knoxville?

After watching Tennessee football get the high-level recruits they’ve been getting recently, it’s only fair to question if the Vols will be back on top of the college football world in the next three to four years.

I know, 2023 feels like it’s really far away, but I don’t think it’s a reach to say that the Vols could be competing for a national championship in 2023.

It’s also not always a great idea to look ahead to the future while you still have the opportunity to be successful in 2020. That’s the case for the Vols, but a VFL went onto the Paul Finebaum Show and talked about when he thinks the Vols could claim its next national championship.

Peerless Price joined Paul Finebaum to talk Tennessee, and the Vol great is confident that Tennessee’s time is coming with Jeremy Pruitt at the helm.

If you remember, Price was a big part of the 1998 National Championship team, so he knows what it takes to get to the title game and win it. He also knows how to put on a performance on the biggest stage with his 199 receiving yards in the game.

But this is something that can get Tennessee fans excited not only to get the 2021 class in the weight room and on the field but also for the future of the Tennessee program.

We know Pruitt can coach on the field and develop his players, we saw it last year against Georgia and Alabama. The defense especially kept the Vols in those games and gave Tennessee a chance to win.

If Pruitt can continue to recruit at a high level and get some blue-chip athletes and take them away from Georgia, Alabama, and other top college football programs, then I think the dream of getting Tennessee back to the national championship game will be more than a dream.
