Derrick Henry made Pete Prisco’s Top 100 NFL players list but the Tennessee Titans running back is still to low on the list.

In previous seasons, it would be nice just to see the Tennessee Titans have a couple of players in the top 100 list of NFL players. But this year is unique because not only did the Titans have two players on the list, but one is especially low.

The two players that the Titans had on the NFL Top 100 list are Kevin Byard at No. 94 and Derrick Henry at No. 69. Now, Henry has a nice ranking on Pete Prisco’s list, but the issue that I have is the amount of running backs that are ahead of Henry on this list.

Henry is ranked the No. 6 overall running back in the NFL, according to Prisco. Of the nine running backs that made the list, the five in front of Henry are Dalvin Cook (No. 44), Alvin Kamara (No. 40), Saquon Barkley (No. 35), Ezekiel Elliott (No. 17), and Christian McCaffrey (No. 5) leads the group of running backs.

Whatever you think about any of those running backs ahead of Henry, none of them finished with at least 1,500 rushing yards, nor did they win the rushing title for the 2019 season. I know many Tennesseans love Kamara, I do too, but he didn’t even have 1,000 rushing yards in 2019.

If we’re going off of the eye test, then these rankings can be debated, and you might have a small case for Henry ranking behind some of these other running backs, but if we’re looking at statistics and what they did on the field, there’s no doubt that Henry is at least a top-three running back in the NFL.

In fact, in the last two seasons, there’s only one running back ahead of Henry that has had more rushing yards than him, and that’s Ezekiel Elliott, who had 152 more rushing yards than Henry in the last two seasons.

There’s a case for a top-three running back spot for Henry in the NFL, and it’s a strong one. Henry has proven that he’s one of the best running backs in the NFL, yet people around the league continue to avoid giving him the credit that he deserves.
