The Tennessee Titans and Ryan Tannehill inked a long-term extension this offseason, so are the Titans going all-in with Tannehill?

Ryan Tannehill took over the starting quarterback job in Week 7, and from then on, you know how the rest of the season went. The Tennessee Titans went on an incredible run and beat the Patriots and the Ravens on the road in the playoffs to go all the way to the AFC Championship.

This offseason, Tannehill was rewarded for his performance on the field with a four-year extension worth $188 million. So, are the Titans in for the long haul with Tannehill as their starting quarterback?

ESPN’s Dan Graziano says he believes that is the case and that the Titans are married to Tannehill being their starting quarterback.

Graziano listed each NFL team based on how “married” they are to their current starting quarterback, and the Titans were listed as the second-most married team behind the Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff.

"“Tannehill helped lead the Titans to the AFC Championship Game in his contract year, and the team rewarded him with a whopper of a deal,” he wrote. “The Titans can easily get out of the final year of the deal if they aren’t happy with Tannehill, but this contract marries him to them for the next three years.”"

I hope you’re happy with Tannehill’s performance because if you’re not, then it’s likely going to be at least a long three years for you watching the Titans play. I think Tannehill deserves the money he got in his extension; now he has to go out and prove he’s worth every penny.

Tannehill, even though he only played for half of the season, led the NFL in a few different categories. He had the best passer rating at 117.5, led the NFL in yards per completion with 13.6, yards per attempt with 9.6, and adjusted yards gained per pass attempt with 10.2.

Tannehill has the opportunity to cement himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the AFC during this contract. If he can continue what he did last year, then that will almost be a guarantee.
