Tennessee Football hit a hot streak on the recruiting trail and now have one spot remaining in the 2021 class. How soon could that spot be filled?

This spring has been an exciting one for Tennessee football, and its fans as the Vols currently have 24 commitments for the 2021 class. Those 24 commitments consist of 14 three-stars, nine four-stars, and one five-star, according to 247Sports.

How much longer will that final spot be available for recruits interested in Tennessee? Well, depending on how confident you are in Tennessee’s recruiting ability, it might not be too long.

Tennessee has also popped up on another shortlist for a 2021 recruit. This time it’s three-star cornerback Javon Bullard. The announcement came via Twitter, as Bullard listed his top seven teams.

Along with Tennessee, Georgia, Louisville, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and West Virginia are also in the running for Bullard.

It looks like it could come down to Tennessee and Georgia if the Georgia corner wants to compete on a top-tier team, but you never really know everything a recruit is looking for during the recruiting process.

The six-foot, 183-pound corner comes in as the No. 61 cornerback in the class and the No. 65 ranked player in Georgia, according to 247Sports.

There’s only one spot remaining, so if Tennessee signs another three-star player, then some fans might be upset that Jeremy Pruitt’s elite recruiting is bringing in 15 three-stars in the 2021 class. I don’t think we will finish with that many three-stars, but that’s the current outlook for some fans who are hungry for more four and five-stars.

If it comes down to it, Tennessee might need Bullard’s commitment. The Vols currently only have two cornerback commits in the 2021 class, and the position could be dry when they get on campus next year. We could see both Baylen Buchanan and Bryce Thompson leave Rocky Top after the 2020 season, and that’s not exactly promising for the Tennessee secondary if that happens.

The coaching staff might hold on when it comes to getting its final commitment since they already almost have a full class. If that’s the case, then Pruitt might be able to bring in a higher-caliber corner like four-star Isaiah Johnson or four-star Nyland Green.

Regardless, if no one decommits, Pruitt will be in an interesting situation for the rest of this recruiting cycle.
