The Tennessee Titans are expecting to build off the 2019 season and make 2020 even better, but could they do it with the best trio in the NFL?

If you ask who has the best trio in the NFL to every NFL fanbase, the likelihood of you hearing them utter the words “Tennessee Titans” in their answer is probably slim.

If you were to tell others that you think that the Titans have the best trio in the NFL, then they’ll probably call you crazy. When you look at it, it’s actually not that crazy at all.

That’s something that NFL Network’s Nate Burleson pointed out when he was asked who has the best trio in the NFL.

If you have been keeping up with some of Burleson’s takes over the past six months or so, then you would know that he finds this Titans team to be a lot better than most people, and he’s been very complimentary of what Mike Vrabel and the Titans are building.

Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry complimented each other very well last season. With Tannehill at quarterback, Henry gave defenses fits and Tannehill still consistently threw for more than 250 passing yards, even while Henry drew a lot of the attention.

Tannehill led the league last season with the highest passer rating in the league at 117.5, and Saints quarterback Drew Brees came in second at 116.3. For Henry, he led the league in rushing last season, so he’s proven that he can be an elite running back.

Ok, well, the Titans have Henry and Tannehill, but who’s the third? All you have to do is look at who was the best receiver on the Titans roster when Tannehill and Henry were on the field, and that would be A.J. Brown.

Before Tannehill took over,  Brown had one game where he had more than 50 receiving yards. After Tannehill took over, Brown had six games where he had more than 50 receiving yards with four of those games passing the 100 receiving yards mark.

Brown finished his rookie season with 1,051 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Imagine what he and Tannehill can do with an offseason to work out together and then a full season on the field together.

If all three can come back healthy and ready to play a full season this fall, then there’s no doubt in my mind that the Titans can have the best trio in football in 2020.
