Tennessee Football and Jeremy Pruitt continue to focus on the front seven in recruiting, and I have a good feeling that it’s going to pay off.

Jeremy Pruitt is a defensive-minded head coach and a good one at that. Tennessee football may have struck gold when athletic director Phillip Fulmer announced that Pruitt was coming to Knoxville, and now he’s using his defensive expertise both on the football field and on the recruiting trail.

Naquan Brown, a four-star linebacker out of Virginia, is the most recent prospect to pop up on Tennessee fans’ recruiting board as he announced his top six teams.

Tennessee made the shortlist along with LSU, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia Tech, and Miami. Hopefully, Coach Duggs’ National Championship loss to Va Tech doesn’t hurt Pruitt and company too much on the recruiting trail.

Brown made the announcement on Twitter, and it has once again gotten some more Vol fans talking about Pruitt’s success on the recruiting trail and the possibility of signing another four-star athlete.

People might be drumming up more hype surrounding Pruitt and the future of Tennessee football, but Brown is an exceptional player and one that Tennessee fans shouldn’t discount.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect out of Virginia Beach is a four-star according to 247Sports Composite rankings and is ranked the No. 201 player nationally, No. 11 linebacker, and No. 7 player in the state.

Tennessee already has one outside linebacker in the 2021 class in four-star Dylan Brooks. The addition of Brown could make this class of outside linebackers alone on the verge of being elite by themselves.

Pruitt is going to have to get Brown on campus to sway his commitment away from the “hometown” decision in Virginia Tech.

Brown is currently holding down one of the defensive end spots for his high school team, but he will likely move to outside linebacker due to size at the next level, and if you haven’t seen him play, he’s a linebacker that isn’t afraid to get physical and get in the quarterback and running back’s face.

Next. Tennessee Football ranks in the Top 25. dark

If Pruitt can steal Brown out from under Va Tech, then I can only imagine what else he’s going to do to finish off this class and what he’s going to do for future classes because it won’t be easy.
