After a decommitment, other Tennessee Football commits respond
Tennessee Football saw Kamar Wilcoxson de-commit from Tennessee and committed to Florida, and other Vol commits respond.
Tennessee football saw its first big decommitment over the weekend when Kamar Wilcoxson announced he is committing to Florida for the third time.
Since he tweeted out his announcement, the tweet has been deleted, but it seems as if he’s still committed to the Gators. If you’re not all caught up, you can catch up with what’s going on here.
The four-star defensive back made the announcement, which made some Tennessee fans nervous. Could this be the downfall of Tennessee’s hot spring? Could we see some players de-commit from Tennessee and ultimately send the 2021 class down a different path?
Well, it doesn’t look like that will quite be the case as of right now. Of course, things can change, and recruiting can be a dangerous game, especially when rivals are both going after one player.
Wilcoxson’s de-commitment did send shockwaves through VolTwitter, and even some of the current Tennessee recruits, but the current commits didn’t back down, and they continued to show their support for Tennessee, and they are still all in on the Vols.
Terrence Lewis led the charge with a series of tweets, and he seemed to be as confused as many Tennessee fans and responded to Wilcoxson’s comment on his initial tweet where he said it’s business over feelings. Lewis took that comment to heart.

Lewis wasn’t the only other verbal commit to speak out against Wilcoxson’s flip. Others responded directly to Wilcoxson, and others responded by reaffirming their commitment to Tennessee.
Defensive end Dylan Brooks and wide receiver Julian Nixon responded directly to Wilcoxson to show some respect but went on to say they’re not going anywhere. Nixon went as far as to tweet out a Vol For Life graphic.
Linebacker Aaron Willis was subtly asked about flipping his commitment to Maryland, and he responded with a gif simply saying “nope.”
KaTron Evans, Kaidon Salter, Miles Campbell, Colby Smith, Jaylen Wright, and Edwin White also reaffirmed that they’re not going anywhere, and they are solidly locked in with Tennessee.
Cody Brown joined in and tagged his teammate Amarius Mims who is one of the best linemen in the 2021 class. Mims’ response might get some Tennessee fans pretty excited with what is to come.
It looked like things might get a little crazy on Rocky Top with Wilcoxson’s decommitment. Now, I don’t think it’s going to lead to anything more than what has already happened.
Jeremy Pruitt is building something special, and we know who is all in with Pruitt and the Vols and who isn’t, and we’ll take our guys who are bought in and ready to win when they get on campus.
