Tennessee Football projected to go 7-5 in 2020
It’s projection season, and Tennessee Football has been projected to go 7-5 for the second straight season, according to College Football News.
Tennessee football and Jeremy Pruitt have pretty high expectations this year, and for many Tennessee fans, 8-4 is the floor for the Vols in 2020. Going 7-5 for the second straight season wouldn’t be the worst thing, but that means that there was some let down somewhere throughout the season.
Some sort of letdown is expected during a long college football season, but Tennessee shouldn’t lose five games this year. The Vols should be the favorites in all but four games. Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia will be the four games Tennessee goes into as underdogs.
Even though the Vols will be underdogs in those four games, two of those games seem winnable right now for Tennessee. The Vols could catch Oklahoma off guard in Norman early in the season, and the Georgia game seems much more winnable with it being later in the season.
Even though those two games seem winnable, College Football News has projected Tennessee to go 7-5 for the 2020 regular season for the second straight year.
ESPN’s Football Power Index has also predicted Tennessee to go 7-5 this year. I don’t think Tennessee is going to win ten games, but I also don’t think Tennessee is only going to win seven games.
I think 8-4 is what most people are going to expect, with the ceiling being 9-3 with Tennessee beating a rival or OU to add a big win to the 2020 season.
I think Tennessee’s going to win one of those four games that I listed where Tennessee will be an underdog. Which one? I don’t know yet, but I feel pretty good about saying Tennessee is going to win one of those four games.
Maybe I’m looking through my orange goggles again, but I think Jeremy Pruitt is the real deal, and I think Tennessee will improve, even if it’s just to 8-4, and I think Tennessee impresses a lot of people this season and perform above the 7-5 projections.
