Tennessee Titans: A.J. Brown makes The Athletic’s All Under-25 Team
Tennessee Titans receiver A.J. Brown made The Athletic’s All Under-25 team, and there’s really no surprise after his rookie season.
A.J. Brown had one of the best rookie seasons a Tennessee Titans wide receiver could have. He finished the season with 52 receptions for 1,051 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Not too shabby.
Most of that is thanks to Ryan Tannehill taking over the starting quarterback role in the middle of the season, but after being snubbed for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Brown gets some recognition with The Athletic’s All Under-25 Team.
Lindsay Jones and Mike Sando compiled the list to put together the best young talent that the NFL has to offer, and there’s no doubt that Brown should be on that list.
"“There’s an emphasis on recent production in our choices at receiver, which explains why JuJu Smith-Schuster landed among the honorable mentions after a down season in 2019,” they said. “He leads every current player in the league in receiving yards before age 25, and he won’t age out until Nov. 22, 2022. Godwin, Brown, and Sutton were stronger producers last season, as were some other outstanding candidates. Brown became the fifth player of any age in the past 20 seasons to exceed 1,000 yards while averaging at least 20 per reception.”"
If Brown can have another 1,000-yard season in 2020, then he will likely be setting up for a very successful career in the NFL. I was excited for Brown when he was drafted out of Ole Miss, but I didn’t expect him to sprint out of the gate like he did. I’m not complaining, though.
One thing that has plagued the Titans since they made the move to Nashville is consistency. The 2020 season is an opportunity for the Titans to prove that they can be consistently successful in the NFL and continue to compete with some of the best talent that the NFL has to offer.
