Tennessee Football quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is getting some preseason recognition as he’s been named to Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list.

Jarrett Guarantano is looking to have a bounce-back season and make up for some of Tennessee football’s failures on offense from the 2019 season.

There were a lot of inconsistencies in Tennessee’s offense last season which saw three different quarterbacks try to figure things out on the field during the 2019 season.

Four offensive coordinators, two head coaches, an endless number of offensive linemen. Guarantano has been through it all during his time in Knoxville.

Assuming Guarantano earns the starting quarterback spot back full-time for 2020, he’s going to have some high expectations with another offseason under his belt. There won’t be any big coaching changes that the offense has to worry about and the offensive line will be the best o-line that he’s had in Knoxville.

Fans, coaches, and teammates are going to want to see Guarantano have a comeback season and make up for the mistakes he made last season. If he can do that, then the Vols could be looking at having a really good season this year. If not, the Vols could be in trouble again and be forced to scramble to find a quarterback to replace JG this fall.

Guarantano is also getting some preseason recognition. He’s been named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list.

The top senior quarterback in the country is awarded the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. JG was joined by 47 other quarterbacks that made the watch list. Last season, Joe Burrow took home the hardware, along with a lot of other hardware, so it would be a big honor if JG can do what it takes to win the award.

With the PAC-12 and Big 10 not playing this fall, the college football season will already be a little different, so Guarantano might as well go out there and be the best quarterback he can be and continue to prove people wrong.
