Jeffery Simmons is the future of the Tennessee Titans’ defensive line, and he’s already taking up a leadership role among the d-line.

The Tennessee Titans decided to part ways with Jurrell Casey this offseason, which means the Titans need a new leader on the defensive line. It didn’t take long for Jeffery Simmons to nominate himself and become the defensive line’s new leader.

Simmons will likely be the future of the Titans’ d-line. The Titans probably hope that Simmons will hang around Nashville at least as long as Casey did, or at least long enough to bring the state of Tennessee its first professional sports championship.

Titans 2020 fifth-round draft pick, Larrell Murchison, has taken notice of Simmons’ leadership during training camp and has given high praise to Simmons’ first NFL season as the Titans’ premier defensive lineman.

Simmons was the Titans 2019 first-round draft pick, and so far, he’s been a successful pick. He’s looking to continue that success in his second year on and off the field. It seems like he’s been successful in doing so, according to Murchison.

Expectations are high for Simmons, and I think he has the talent to live up to the hype. He’s a potential future star in the NFL, and it looks like he’s already being groomed as a Titans’ leader and captain.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding not only Simmons but also the Titans as a whole. They’re coming off a run to the AFC Championship, and Titans fans will hope that with another full offseason with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry, the Titans will at least get back to that point in the playoffs.

For Simmons, it looks like he’s coming into form as a leader on the Titans. The Titans have a bright future with the young core it currently has. It’s up to the players on the field to decide if the hype is real surrounding the Titans.
