Jalin Hyatt is the most recent Tennessee Football player to get high praise from the Tennessee coaching staff as the Vols kick off fall camp.

Tennessee football’s wide receiver group is probably the position group that most fans are worried about on the offense, other than quarterback. The Vols will be without Marquez Callaway, Jauan Jennings, and Dominick Wood-Anderson this fall, as they’ve all graduated. That means the Vols will be replacing nearly 70% of its production at wide receiver.

That means the Vols will look for new guys to step up for the first time in a few years as WR1 and WR2. It looks like Josh Palmer is cementing himself as the Vols’ top receiver this season, but there is still plenty of competition for WR2 and slot receiver spots.

One player that is standing out early is freshman Jalin Hyatt which could be the best thing possible for that position group. The more young players that contribute, the more stability you’ll have going forward. Jeremy Pruitt seems to already be impressed with Hyatt’s performance.

"“Jalin (Hyatt) is a guy who is very polished,” Jeremy Pruitt said on Friday. “He’s had three very good practices and he has to continue to do that. It’s a little different in this league because everybody plays in your face. In high school, very few teams probably played him that way. He has to continue to work really hard at the line of scrimmage, at the top of routes. And he’s a guy that can really play all three spots at wide receiver.”"

Hyatt is a four-star prospect out of Irmo, South Carolina, and had quite the high school career. He finished his high school career with a record-setting performance in the state championship game where he had seven catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns.

He’s an exciting player to watch, and it looks like he’s already getting the hang of the game at the college level. He won’t have to worry about competition in his freshman season with Tennessee’s ten-game all-SEC season.
