Tennessee Football has been predicted by Athlon Sports to upset two SEC West opponents on their new ten-game SEC schedule.

Tennessee football didn’t get the best draw when it came to their two new SEC West opponents. The Vols drew Auburn and Texas A&M.

Tennessee has some recent history with Auburn, and Jeremy Pruitt’s experience beating Auburn at Alabama paid off when the Vols upset Auburn on the road in 2018.

Eric Sorenson at Athlon Sports has predicted the biggest upsets this SEC season, and Tennessee made the list twice. He has predicted the Vols to upset both Auburn and Texas A&M this fall.

"“If the Volunteers get the consistency from the quarterback position this year, there is no reason they can’t make a signature win or two happen,” Sorenson said. “Jarrett Guarantano is nothing if not experienced in the SEC rigors. The other positive sign for the Big Orange? Sure, it’s not a bye week before the Aggies come to town, but it’s as close as it gets since UT will play Arkansas the week prior.”"

If the Vols were able to upset both of their new SEC West opponents, then their tough draw would’ve played in their favor. The rest of the schedule doesn’t get much easier as the Vols have Alabama, Florida, and Georgia on the schedule every year.

I can only imagine what else Tennessee will be able to do if they do end up beating the Tigers and Aggies this fall. It could end up being a very good season for the Vols.

I don’t think that Tennessee will be SEC Champions or anything like that, but that doesn’t mean the Vols can’t win seven or eight games. I know I’m probably overhyping Tennessee again, but Tennessee fans are going to expect a successful season from Tennessee and Pruitt this fall.
