The 2021 class will get a little bit bigger for Tennessee football as in-state offensive lineman J’Marion Gooch commits to the Vols.

The Tennessee football 2021 recruiting class is back at 25 commits as in-state offensive lineman J’Marion Gooch has flipped his commitment from Auburn to Tennessee.

Gooch’s flip to the Vols makes him the 25th commitment to the 2021 class and the second offensive lineman to join the class. Colby Smith is the other offensive lineman that has committed to Tennessee. We could see Pruitt begin to make a run at some offensive linemen as he also tries to go after five-star prospect Amarius Mims.

In a post on Twitter, Gooch thanked Auburn for their support through the process but threw a curveball when he committed to Tennessee over Auburn in the video he posted.

Coming out of The King’s Academy in Seymour, Tennessee, Gooch is currently a three-star offensive lineman. He’s the No. 68 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 22 player in the state of Tennessee.

Gooch also has some experience on the defensive side of the ball as a defensive end. His experience on the defensive side of the ball should help him translate his game at the next level. His knowledge about how defensive ends think could be very beneficial when he’s trying to protect the quarterback from edge rushers.

It’s exciting to see Jeremy Pruitt already going to work against Auburn off the field. As a long-time Alabama fan and then Alabama coach, one could only assume that he isn’t a big fan of the Tigers. Pruitt already holds the upper hand on the field since arriving to Knoxville with a 1-0 record, and he’s already beating them on the recruiting trail, too.
