The Tennessee Titans move up in USA Today’s post-Week 2 power rankings as the Titans advance one spot closer to the top-five.

The Tennessee Titans survived once again in Week 2 as they improve to 2-0 on the season. The Jacksonville Jaguars put up a late-game fight, but the Titans were able to hold off their division rival.

USA Today’s Nate Davis has rewarded the Titans for surviving the second-straight game. The Titans were previously at No. 9 in USA Today’s NFL power rankings, and Nate has moved the Titans up to No. 8.

If the Titans would’ve taken care of their first two opponents, or even one of them, they could be getting ready to break the top-five in the power rankings. But even though the Titans failed to do that, they’re still hanging around in the top-ten.

"“8. Titans (9): They’re in sole possession of first place in AFC South … yet Tennessee is also extremely fortunate it’s not currently an 0-2 football team, Davis wrote.”"

Short but sweet. There’s no better way to put how the Titans’ first two weeks have gone. They could be 0-2, but they’re 2-0.

Tennessee will have an opportunity to improve to 3-0 this week when they take on the struggling Vikings. I don’t think that the Vikings will win the AFC North this year, but they can still turn their season around and be a competitive team for the remainder of the season.

Next. Ryan Tannehill is already proving people wrong. dark

With the Vikings struggling, the Titans have the opportunity to take care of the Vikings this Sunday and do it without much pushback. If the Titans can beat the Vikings this week and not have to escape without too much trouble, then the Titans could find their way moving up in the rankings again.
