Tennessee Football’s home opener is this Saturday against Missouri, and the Vols are ready to improve to 2-0 after their win over South Carolina.

Tennessee football has opened as big home favorites against Missouri. The Tigers fell to Alabama in their season opener with the Vols taking care of business in South Carolina. Vegas thinks that after both teams’ opening performances, the Vols will take care of business again this Saturday.

If you know anything about SEC football, it probably won’t be as easy as Vegas is predicting. There isn’t much that does come easy in the SEC. Just look at LSU for an example of that.

In regards to Tennessee’s performance against South Carolina, the Vols did pretty well on Saturday night. Will Muschamp’s defense is always tough on the Vols, but the offense was able to overcome some of its issues to win the game.

The Vols’ Week 1 win should be a starting point. The rust should now be shaken off, and Tennessee should take care of business this Saturday against Mizzou.

I expect to see an improved offense on Saturday with the Vols putting an emphasis on the run game. Tennessee should be able to have either Ty Chandler or Eric Gray rush for over 100 yards this Saturday. Chandler led the Vols in rushing with 86 yards against South Carolina.

It’s hard to judge how good Missouri’s offense will be this Saturday since they played against Alabama, who has been known do have one of the best defenses in the country virtually every year since Nick Saban joined the Tide.

Next. It’s not fun if it isn’t stressful. dark

I do know that Tennessee’s offense is better than Missouri’s, and the same goes for the defense. There’s no reason why the Vols should lose this game, but they need to prepare like they are 13-point underdogs, not favorites.
