Tennessee Football moves up to No. 14 in AP Poll
After the first two weeks of the SEC season, Tennessee Football has moved up to No. 14 in the AP Poll after falling to No. 20 last week.
It’s a great week to be a Tennessee Vol after Tennessee football defeated the Missouri Tigers to improve to 2-0. It’s the Vols’ eighth straight win going back to the 2019 season, and the Vols had a big jump in the AP Poll.
After Tennessee fell to No. 21 in its win in the season opener against South Carolina, the Vols climbed back up the charts to get into the top-15.
In the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll, Tennessee saw an even bigger jump in the poll as they jumped up to No. 12 in the country. The Vols hadn’t seen this high of a ranking since 2016 before the Vols traveled to Texas A&M for a midseason matchup.
The Vols will face its first real challenge of the season in its third game of the season this Saturday when Tennessee will take on Georgia.
Georgia took care of business again with a 27-6 victory over rival Auburn this past Saturday. They are now the No. 3 team in the country, and if the Vols can find a way to beat Georgia this Saturday, then the Vols could move into the top-ten next Sunday.
Five of the eight games remaining on Tennessee schedule are against ranked opponents based on the AP Poll’s newest poll. It won’t be easy, but if Tennessee can survive that brutal schedule and beat one or two of those ranked opponents and beat all of the unranked opponents, then the Vols could have a pretty successful season.
