After starting the season 2-0, Tennessee Football opens as big underdogs against No. 3 Georgia for their game in Athens this Saturday.

Tennessee football has opened its 2020 season the way it ended the 2019 season. The Vols went on a 6-0 run to end the 2019 season and have continued that run with a 2-0 start to the 2020 season.

For the Vols’ matchup against SEC East rival, Georgia, this Saturday, Tennessee opens as an early 14-point underdog in the game.

Georgia comes into the game as the No. 3 team in the country, so by no means is Tennessee expected to win this game. But if they do, they could earn themselves a spot in the top ten for next week’s AP Poll.

Tennessee is coming off a 35-12 win over Missouri in a game that the offense and defense both took care of business on the field. It was a much-improved performance from the Vols’ Week 1 win over South Carolina.

With Tennessee’s win against Missouri, the Vols are now tied for the longest winning streak in the country with Notre Dame and Air Force with eight straight wins.

If there’s an early-season game that Tennessee fans should be excited for, it’s this Saturday’s game against Georgia. Jeremy Pruitt has been able to find different ways to contain the Bulldogs in previous matchups for about half of the game, but couldn’t get it done for all four quarters.

With an improved roster and more experience, he might be able to make this year’s game much more competitive and even give the Vols a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter.
