Tennessee Football: After 2 straight losses, Pruitt is trying to win on recruiting trail
After two straight losses, Tennessee Football is looking to win as they make the top-ten of the No. 1 running back in the 2021 class.
It has been a rough couple of weeks for Tennessee football and Jeremy Pruitt. The Vols are coming off two straight losses, and there’s a pretty good chance the Vols lose again this Saturday against Alabama since Tennessee doesn’t even know who their quarterback is.
With the possibility of the Vols going from 2-0 to 2-3, Tennessee needs a win, and Pruitt could be trying to get that win on the recruiting trail.
The No. 1 running back in the country, five-star Emmanuel Henderson, has released his top-ten teams, and Tennessee made the list. The Vols were joined by Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and USC.
Tennessee is with the elite of college football on this list and has a lot of SEC competition. Henderson is the No. 1 running back in the country, No. 2 player in the state of Alabama, and the No. 18 overall player in the nation.
Pruitt was able to get to Henderson early in his recruiting experience as the Vols were the second team to offer him. Pruitt and the Vols are going to have to offer a lot more than an early offer to bring Henderson to Knoxville.
I don’t think that there are very many people expecting Tennessee to beat Alabama this Saturday, but from next week on, the Vols are going to be expected to win every game.
The reality of that happening is slim, but Pruitt needs to prove why he’s worth the extension he was given earlier this year, and so far, he hasn’t done that through the first five games of the season.
