Tennessee Football comes into its rivalry game against Alabama as big underdogs, but can the Vols find a way to cover and maybe even win?

After watching last week’s game against Kentucky, it’s almost impossible that Tennessee football could beat Alabama. In college football, anything is possible, and if Jeremy Pruitt could find a way to beat Alabama, then he’d redeem himself with the members of the fan base that isn’t too pleased with his coaching performance so far this season.

Pruitt confirmed that Jarrett Guarantano will be Tennessee’s starter, so any chance that the Tennessee offense could see a spark has been diminished. If Pruitt decides to play another quarterback, the offense might stand a chance, but otherwise, the Vols offense will continue to struggle.

Tennessee comes into Saturday’s game as 22-point underdogs, so if the offense can get a spark, then there’s a decent chance that the Vols can find a way to cover. Playing the young gun, Harrison Bailey could offer the spark that the offense needs to beat Alabama.

The offense will need to play a near-perfect four quarters and at least attempt to help out the defense throughout the game. A Guarantano-led offense won’t do that.

I have hope that Pruitt will pull Guarantano if he isn’t performing before the offense completely collapses, and the game is too far out of reach. If not, then it worries me that Pruitt is willing to settle with Guarantano at quarterback, knowing that he can’t win a big game for Tennessee instead of giving one of the younger quarterbacks a chance.

I think that Tennessee could cover the 22 points against Alabama, but outside of that is unreasonable. I don’t see Tennessee beating Alabama this year, especially with Guarantano at quarterback.
