Tennessee Basketball unveils new uniforms to match white throwbacks
Tennessee Basketball is going full retro with its new all orange throwback uniforms to match their white throwbacks that fans love.
Two years ago, Tennessee basketball unveiled a white throwback uniform and tweeted out a video calling them “Old School / New Heights” ahead of Tennessee’s NIT Season Tip-Off.
The 2018 all-white uniform was a hit among fans and has since replaced Tennessee’s white home uniform and became the Vols’ full-time home uniform.
For the Tennessee fans that like those Tennessee throwbacks, they’re going to get a lot more on the throwback front as the Vols have introduced a new throwback that many have been waiting for since the initial throwback uniform was introduced.
Tennessee’s three seniors, John Fulkerson, Yves Pons, and E.J. Anosike, took to Twitter on Tuesday to show off the new uniforms for the first time, with the Tennessee basketball Twitter account following up to do the same.
As Rick Barnes is trying to get the Vols to places the program has never been before, he is trying to take the Vols back to the 1970s and 80s with the new uniforms.
I’ve been waiting on an orange version of the white uniform for the past two years, and I know these uniforms will get a lot of Tennessee fans excited to see them on the basketball court for the first time.
Tennessee football and Jeremy Pruitt might try to one-up the basketball program with the rumors of there possibly being black jerseys returning to Neyland Stadium, but that’s something that we will have to wait and see if it happens.
Right now, the Vols only have one game officially on the schedule with COVID, but I can’t wait to see those all orange uniforms on the court whenever they’re debuted.
