Tennessee Football’s only hope to beating Florida
Tennessee Football is getting ready to take on the Florida Gators and could ruin the Gators’ College Football Playoff bid with a win.
The Florida Gators are really good. Tennessee football is not very good. There’s a very small chance that Tennessee finds a way to beat Florida this Saturday. Unfortunately for Tennessee fans, they’ll have to endure a 3:30 CBS broadcast on Saturday as well.
But with any game, there’s always a chance. Although it might not be a big chance, Tennessee’s hope to beat Florida lies in one player that can give the Vols’ offense a much-needed boost if he’s allowed to sling the ball and Tennessee doesn’t play safe.
The only way Tennessee will win on Saturday is if Jeremy Pruitt puts the ball in Harrison Bailey‘s hands and lets him run the offense with the full playbook and the intention of winning the game. They will have to put everything they have on the field and throw everything they can at Florida.
We know our running backs are good, our receivers are good, our offensive line is hit or miss, but if we can have a solid, consistent quarterback, I definitely think the Vols will have a chance to compete with the Gators.
The defense is also good, but I don’t know if they’re good enough to hold down the Florida offense, especially if the Vols’ offense isn’t producing early.
Florida had a slow start in the first half this past Saturday against Kentucky, so if they have another slow start, Bailey can take advantage of that by throwing new things out there as the quarterback. Tennessee should plan to throw things at Florida that the offense hasn’t done this season, especially with Bailey at quarterback.
If the Vols can go into halftime with the lead or even keep the score close, then who knows what can happen from there.
The Vols need a boost on offense, and that boost isn’t going to come with Jarrett Guarantano running the offense. If Tennessee wants a chance to win, they’ll have to do it with Bailey at quarterback.
