After a disappointing loss last week, the Tennessee Titans had a big bounce-back win over the Jaguars to right the ship on both sides of the football.

The Tennessee Titans took care of business on Sunday in their dominant 31-10 victory over division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. The Titans are now one step closer to overcoming the 9-7 hump that has terrorized the Titans in recent years.

For the past four seasons, the Titans have finished the regular season at 9-7. Two of those four years, they made the playoffs, with the most recent playoff appearance being last season when the Titans made it all the way to the conference championship.

Before 2016, the last time the Titans had a winning record was in 2011 when the Titans also went 9-7. The last time the Titans finished with a record better than 9-7 was in 2008 when the Titans went 13-3.

Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry both made sure to put the Jaguars away and not give them a chance to sneak away with a win. Tannehill threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns, while Henry had another dominant day where he finished with 215 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

With those numbers, Henry made some history on Sunday. Henry had his fourth career 200-yard game with two touchdowns. That ties him with Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and LaDainian Tomlinson for the most in NFL history.

I have a pretty good feeling that Henry will stand alone with five career 200-yard games with two touchdowns, and it could even happen this year. The Titans still have the Lions and Texans on the schedule, which could both be games where Henry could break the record.

The Titans offense hit its stride on Sunday, and it looked like they carried over their success from the second half of the Browns game.

With the win over the Jaguars, the Titans continue to hold onto first place in the AFC South. The Colts won their game also, so the race for the AFC South title will remain close until the Colts or Titans lose a game.

The Titans are now one win away from getting over the 9-7 hump that has haunted the Titans over the past four seasons. The Titans have their eyes on a prize that’s much more important than a ten-win season.
