Derrick Henry made history on Sunday as he hit the 2,000-yard mark en route to a Tennessee Titans 41-38 victory over the Houston Texans.

I still remember throughout the spring and summer, people were saying that if the Tennessee Titans paid Derrick Henry, it would be the biggest mistake they could make. Age was the reason behind not signing Henry to a big contract, but it seems like, after the 2020 regular season, that the Titans are getting every penny out of that contract.

After an embarrassing loss to the Green Bay Packers last week at Labeau Field, the Titans offense countered with a dominant performance on Sunday in the season finale against the Houston Texans.

The Titans’ offense scored 41 points against the Texans, and the offense was clicking on every level. A lot of the offensive dominance came thanks to Henry’s 250 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Henry had another dominant day and it resulted in Henry and the Titans making a little history in the process. Henry hit 2,000 rushing yards for the season which makes some history for himself and makes the Titans the only team in the NFL to have two rushers hit the 2,000-yard mark in a single season.

Unsurprisingly, Henry took the high road after the game and thanked his teammates for their hard work that lead to his success.

"“I’m just thankful for my teammates,” Henry said. “Thankful for all of them, you know, week in and week out, you know, them doing their job. Just the unselfishness that they have for my success, I’m very thankful. Thank God for my teammates. I pray for those guys every day, all the guys I go to work with.“Just a great job this year, and glad we were able to keep on playing. I just had to go out there and do my job”"

Henry also won the Rushing Title for the second season in a row, which also isn’t surprising. He becomes the first running back to do that since LaDainian Tomlinson did it in 2006-07.

The Titans will now face the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday as the Ravens will look to get revenge on the Titans after the Titans defeated the Ravens earlier this season.
